Pulse Oximeter
A pulse oximeter (Home pulse oximeter) is a device that measures the oxygen saturation level in your blood. It is a quick, non-invasive and completely painless procedure. Nowadays every family should keep at least one pulse oximeter in their home. When infected by Coronavirus, you need to check your blood oxygen saturation level at frequent intervals. Cancer patients with lung metastasis should also keep this product at home.

A Pulse oximeter: Real or Fake
There are several steps to check pulse oximeter. Here I am describing one by one.
N.B.- The best method to check a pulse oximeter is to cross-check it with a known standard pulse oximeter.
1) Insert one non-living object and see whether the pulse oximeter is giving any reading. A good pulse oximeter should not show any reading.
👉 But, here, the most vital part to see in the graph. The graph should be a straight line and there should not be any fluctuations.
2) Insert the finger inside the pulse oximeter. See the reading. Now press the base of the finger.
👉 Now, the reading should be below normal or zero. But there must be some fluctuation in the graph.
3) For the third step, you need a normal rubber band. First, see the pulse oximeter reading with your finger. Then tie the rubber band around your finger. And now see the pulse oximeter reading on that finger.
👉 Here, there may be below normal oxygen saturation reading or there may be no reading at all. If you loosely tie it, then there must be a fluctuation in the graph. Try to perform this quickly, otherwise, there may be pain on the finger due to prolong stoppage of blood circulation.
